Wattle Ridge Vineyard and the home of the
Two Tinsmiths wine series.
The decision to plant grape
vines was made from our love of good wine and a belief that the
property and position was perfect for this venture. The vineyard
was first established in 1997 when we planted 10,000 Cabernet
vines. We are situated in the Blackwood Valley wine region and
on the highest point of the Darling Scarpe in the southwest of
West Australia, with rich Laterite soils, an abundance of water
and the perfect climate, cold frosty winters and hot dry
summers. With the success of those first vines and the
popularity of our wines we have now increased our grape
varieties to include more Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc as well as
Verdelho.
Each year Jim manages our vineyard so that we only
produce about 3 tonne to the acre which gives us grapes of a
premium quality in flavour, colour and character. |
